FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK...

Sorry this newsletter is a day late. My kiddies have been battling colds. Seems
everyone I talk to lately has a cold. Ugh! Tis the season! Here's hoping you
and yours are healthy!

I got a request from a fellow writer that might interest some of you...

Hi Krista, I’m not WGA (although I am a member of the Canadian writer’s
guild), but I live in Los Angeles and my job (story analyst) is directly threatened
by the walkout. This looks like it’s going to be a long one, and United
Hollywood has come up with a petition to show solidarity for striking writers
and also in hopes that a lot of names will help get BOTH sides back to the bargaining
table. (Negotiations broke off on October 31 and there have been no talks since.)
I’m hoping you might post a link to the petition on your site and/or mention
it in your newsletter. Here it is:
http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?WGA
Thanks, Katherine Tomlinson

Lots of contests and listings in today's newsletter so get to it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Only 34 days til Christmas!

Happy Writing,
Krista Barrett, Site Owner & Fellow Writer

* Greetings from Colorado, USA! I'm very excited and proud of my new blog:
http://www.MidlifeCrisisQueen.com About the Queen: It wasn’t the divorce, the hysterectomy, the job loss, the dating service I started or the new marriage at age 50 that convinced me
that I was officially the midlife crisis queen, it was my brilliant new career
as a writer. This was the change that made all the rest seem worth it. This
blog is all about helping others survive and thrive through the changes that
occur around midlife. I learned a lot about myself, what I needed to change,
and what was absolutely genuinely mine to keep through this major life transition.
It has been such an important learning time in my own life. I hope you find
the same in yours!

and Alaska as well as coastal Canada and Mexico. We also visit the multinational
Caribbean islands from time to time, and the waterside ways of life along the
U.S. Great Lakes. Our rule-of-thumb: With the exception of features on the Great

may be experts in one area of our coverage, yet novices in another. We emphasize

aims to provide the resources necessary to take the next step in the quest for

looking for “take-action” travel ideas within our coverage area that
will appeal to a large, general interest audience (70 percent women) that is
time challenged, appreciates value, and is more likely to live in the suburbs
